KALISPELL - The Flathead County Sheriff released the names of the two females shot to death in Kalispell on Christmas day.
Sheriff Mike Meehan says the victims are Jaimi Hurlbert, 35, and her daughter, Alyssa Burkett, 15, both are from Kalispell.
Tyler Cheetham, 34, of Kalispell was arrested on Saturday in connection with the double murder, but the charges against him are still pending.
Meehan says the incident happened just before 3 o'clock in the afternoon on Block Crest Court, west of Kalispell.
Deputies were dispatched to a home for a disturbance involving a weapon.
Upon arrival, they found a woman and her daughter shot.
One of the victims was dead, the other died at the hospital.
Deputies learned Cheetham took off in the victims car and later abandoned it and stole another car from someone's home.
Cheetham was found a short time later in an abandoned trailer where he was arrested without a struggle.
The sheriff says the suspect and both victims knew each other.
He also says both victims were taken to the Montana State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
The investigation into the double murder is ongoing."
